Hello RUclips Community!
These video lessons are for anyone trying to improve their English. My goal is to help viewers speak more natural and fluent English by learning practical expressions and conversations.
My experience: I have taught English as a foreign language for more than 25 years. I am an associate professor of applied linguistics at a women's university in Japan. With my academic background, I have presented at many international conferences on language learning. It is my passion and something I continue to enjoy.
My accent is American. I was born and raised near Boston, Massachusetts, but also lived in California for 10 years.
Languages Studied: My second language is Japanese which I can also read (not so easy because there are about 2,000 Chinese characters to learn). In my school days, I studied Spanish and later in graduate school I learned some Chinese.
Through RUclips, I believe we can all learn together.
I really hope you enjoy the channel.
Steve

What is the difference, lawyer, advocacy, attorny, legal officer?
Here are some basic differences. 1) Lawyer: General term for anyone trained and licensed to practice law. 2) Attorney: A lawyer who can represent clients in court. 3) Advocate: A specialist attorney representing clients in higher courts (specific to some jurisdictions). 4) Legal Officer: Provides legal advice within an organization and ensures compliance with laws.

Also, this is fine. 3)He applied the cream on his legs Fine. 4)He applied the cream to his legs. Probably the most common usage. 5)She applied the cream on her face OK. 6)She applied the cream to her face. OK.

My sir, Could you please tell me are these sentences grammatically correct? Here can I use spread across? 1)The Japanese viruses spread across in Japan. 2)The Japanese viruses spread across Japan. In or on when it comes to enrolling preposition 3)The UK resident enrolled her daughter in Manchester University. 4)The Australian resident enrolled his son at the Monash university of Australia. 5)I drank the water with the bottle. 6)I drank the water from the blue bottle 7)I drank the water with the blue bottle . Here from or with?
1) is correct. However, 2) is not. The phrase "spread across in" is not grammatically correct because it redundantly combines two prepositions ("across" and "in") in a way that does not make sense in English. You should use either "spread across Japan" or "spread in Japan," but not both together.
3) is fine. 4) The Australian resident enrolled his son at Monash University of Australia. I removed THE and capitalized U for University.
In sentences 5), 6), and 7)...all are correct. "With" is used to indicate the tool or instrument used to perform an action. "From" is used to indicate the source of something.
Thank you so much sir bighelp @SingleStepEnglish
My sir, Repetition I can use from and with both preposition what is the difference? Could you please tell me are these sentences grammatically correct? 1)I drank the water from that reusable plastic bottle. 2)I drank the water with that reusable plastic bottle . Here can i use FROM? Preposition is it correct sentence I can use 'from -and 'with 'both preposition what is the difference?
These sentences are also fine. Sentence 1): Focuses on the origin of the water (the water came from the bottle). Sentence 2): Focuses on the instrument used to drink the water (the bottle was used to drink the water).
If the customers were this polite, I´m sure it would make customer service jobs much easier.

Both of your sentences are correct. Sentence 1) focuses on the origin of the water (it came from the reusable plastic bottle). Sentence 2) focuses on the instrument used to drink the water (the bottle was used to drink the water).

My sir, Could you please tell me are these sentences grammatically correct which is correct? 1)We have only few quantities Or we have only less quantities 2)Which is correct
This sentence is grammatically correct but somewhat awkward and unclear. The phrase "a few quantities" is not typical in English. The word quantities generally implies amounts of something specific, and "a few quantities" could be interpreted as different amounts of various items, which is not a common way to express the idea of having only a small number of items left.
Instead..."We only have a few left." is a more natural way and correct way to express that there are a limited number of items remaining.
Thank you so much sir bighelp @SingleStepEnglish

Sorry, what do you mean by this?
this word is hard for a french speaking person because we have in french the word variété but the pronunciation is so different in English. I always make the same mistake to pronunce like in french
That would make sense since the word comes from French! Thank you for letting us English speakers borrow this useful word ;-)
